How to clean Nuna RAVA? | Convertible Car Seat

  • Cleaning your Nuna RAVA car seat from time to time is a must! From crumb filled messes to major blow outs, we all know things can get a little messy!
    It's important to make sure you're using the correct cleaning methods and materials. Using harsh chemicals on the harnesses could damage them and could reduce their safety benefits in a crash. It’s important to note that the harnesses on seats with no re-thread harnesses should never be removed during the cleaning process.

    I would really expect an easier assembly and disassembly process for a luxury brand considering the price of this product. I truly am considering just getting rid of this seat because I can’t get it to look right after washing it and I’m afraid it isn’t safe.
    Nuna should make covers that snap or zip off like other car seat brands.

    @KeepMoving4wrd 3 дня назад +1

    I was wrong. All my griping about difficulty and I was wrong. It is easy; easy as pie. It's a tuck and pull - all the way. Nothing is tricky. You can't be afraid to pull. It's tough, the car seat and seat materials, but not its removal. The removal is easy. Just start at the foot rest and unlatch that. Next, stretch and pull the buckle (stretch the material out from around the little buckle); use a little muscle - it pulls out from underneath the buckle - pretty easily actually - just use a little muscle. Again, the material is tough: you won't break it. From there the whole thing just pulls out from along the crevice. I thought the white, plastic side pull-out part was hooked around something, but it's not: the part that looks like it latches around something on the side is simply sort-of hooked, but more like balanced on a screw; it's not really latched at all. Stick your finger underneath to remove the white plastic part off from OR loosen it from the screw. From there everything pulls out from the "push and pull" assembly real easy.
    It is easy. Sorry, Mary

  • @druhunsaker5442

    Here to say, don't let the comments scare you!! It's not impossible (there was one tricky part that took me less than 5 minutes to maneuver the first time and then it was much easier on the other side) and my son's seat looks brand new (there is no bunching with the cover). Total effort on my part for a full clean (not including the time in the washing machine or the hang dry) was less than 30 minutes.
    ETA: I'm not a car seat pro. This is the first seat that I've ever disassembled and cleaned. It's possible that the angry people in the comments section were having a bad day or struggle with these kinds of tasks in general (if you're even halfway decent at putting together furniture you'll probably be fine).
    Also, everyone who wishes that the cover reattached with snaps or a zipper "because it's such an expensive seat and should be easier," consider that most people buying from this brand are looking for a combination of superior safety, quality, comfort, and aesthetic appeal. The channel is a much more attractive way of attaching the cover and I personally would rather spend 5 extra minutes tucking the cover into the channel than have a big zipper around the seat. There are certainly plenty of other options to choose from if you prefer something different.

    This video quality is great but helpfulness is trash! Tricks o used for the two hardest parts 1. The side corners with the nailhead type button- put your hand on the outside and feel for the hole in the plastic piece. When you find it keep your finger on it while you use pressure to navigate it to the right spot while simultaneously tucking the rib into the grooves.
    2. The horrid corners at the footrest- you will need a kitchen knife or spoon use the upper handle part so you don’t jab your fabric and ruin it. Pull the fabric down towards the bottom to semi thin it out. You must get the right angle or it will not cram back in place. Adjust your angle while pulling it and use your handle to jab it into place. It will be hard but doable it will feel immensely easier at the right angle. The plastic piece ticks in between but does not fold up into the crevice. At the very end of the corner if it feels like it’s bunched up look from where the footrest folds up and use your handle tool to squish it from that side.
    This is what worked for me.
    Good luck

    For such a high priced car seat it would have been super helpful to have multiple cameras with different angles to show what was being done behind the seat. You just have to guess what’s happening in the back with her hands. She’s doing something back there… figure it out. I did eventually after about the 4th time I washed mine. Thumbs down for the bad video

      Careful what you say. Mary, our helpful rep., is easily offended and will not help if you are not really nice and complimentary. I have read ALL the comments and some are helpful in reassembly. Also, there is another video available, a much longer video (possibly with more detail, too), and I am going to watch it.
